Bovine IL-6 Update

Did you know that bovine IL-6 appears to be species-specific? We have tried to bioassay our recombinant bovine IL-6 protein on both human and mouse cell lines, but it seems that bovine IL-6 does not make mouse or human cells proliferate. We have no reason to believe our protein is not active so we are working on developing a bioassay that uses bovine cells. I will keep you updated.
