IL-21
is a member of the type I cytokine family. Other members of the family include
IL-2 and IL-15. IL-21 signals through the common gamma-chain and a unique IL-21
receptor. Studies suggest that IL-21 is a key component of CD4 T cell help that
is required for maintaining the CD8+ T cell responses and inducing B cell
antibody response. IL-21 also promotes the development of Th17 and Tfh cells,
modulates the cytotoxic activity and survival of NK and CD8+ T cells, and
suppresses the maturation of dendritic cells.
Kingfisher
Biotech’s chicken IL-21 protein has been shown to be a superior product for use
in cell culture. The activity of chicken IL-21 was confirmed by an independent
testing laboratory. The biological activity of chicken IL-21 was measured in a
cell proliferation assay using chicken spleen lymphocytes. Recombinant chicken
IL-21 induced proliferation in a dose-dependent manner from 7.8 ng/mL-62.5
ng/mL
Chicken
IL-21 protein was produced in yeast without the use of tags. Proteins produced
in yeast are naturally endotoxin free, properly folded, biologically active,
and may be post-translationally modified. Many scientists find that these
properties make proteins produced in yeast preferable over E. coli-produced
proteins.
Chiicken IL-21 is lyophilized, available in
convenient sizes (5, 25 and 100 micrograms) and in-stock ready to ship. Additional information,
